Marketing Manager, Local Brand Strategy
OpenTable Diner Marketing | 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Toronto, ON (Hybrid: 2 days in-office)
About the Job
OpenTable’s Diner Marketing team is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to spearhead our local brand strategy across key U.S. metropolitan markets, including New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, and Los Angeles, for a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will define the regional brand vision and lead collaborative efforts with cross-functional partners in marketing, communications, creative, sales, and product to bring local initiatives to life. You will accelerate brand awareness and diner engagement by negotiating high-visibility regional partnerships and tailoring national campaigns to authentically resonate with distinct urban dining cultures. Based in our Toronto office on a hybrid schedule (two days in-office per week), you will champion regional diner needs and ensure OpenTable remains the premier dining destination in top culinary markets.
Responsibilities
Own and drive the local brand strategy for core North American metropolitan markets (NYC, SF, Chicago, LA), establishing regional positioning and measurable goals.
Direct cross-functional alignment across communications, creative, sales, events, and product teams to translate regional strategy into integrated, high-impact campaigns.
Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic local partnerships with culinary venues, cultural institutions, and regional media to strengthen brand affinity and visibility.
Adapt and elevate national marketing campaigns through a localized lens, ensuring creative assets, messaging, and channel distribution resonate in each city.
Analyze regional market metrics, competitive trends, and diner behavior data to continuously optimize local investments, strategy, and prioritization.
Represent core-market priorities and diner opportunities in national marketing planning forums to ensure overarching initiatives reflect local market dynamics.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of progressive experience in brand marketing, integrated marketing, or brand strategy.
Proven experience orchestrating complex marketing campaigns and driving alignment across multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated track record of identifying, structuring, negotiating, and executing external partnerships or commercial agreements.
Proficiency in evaluating campaign metrics and consumer insights to formulate data-informed strategic recommendations.
Strong stakeholder management and collaborative communication skills, with an aptitude for quickly establishing trust in contractor or interim leadership capacities.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience driving brand marketing or growth strategies within consumer tech, hospitality, food/dining, or lifestyle brands.
In-depth familiarity with the dining, cultural, and media landscape of major target markets (NYC, San Francisco, Chicago, or Los Angeles).
Experience effectively balancing national brand consistency with local relevance and regional adaptation.
Working familiarity with collaborative workflow platforms (e.g., Jira, Monday.com, Asana) and enterprise productivity suites (e.g., Google Workspace).
This posting is for an existing vacancy.
The best connections happen face-to-face, whether you’re sitting down to dinner or having coffee with a coworker. That’s why OpenTable has adopted a hybrid workplace model. This role aligns with that approach, with an expectation of coming into the office two days a week—giving employees the best of both worlds: in-person collaboration and flexibility.
The expected range of compensation for this position based in Toronto, Canada, is $115,000-$130,000 CAD. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a compensation range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required.
