Project Role : Physical Design Engineer Project Role Description : Translate logical circuit designs into a physical layout, optimizing for area, power, and timing. Perform placement, routing, and clock tree synthesis, ensuring the design meets timing and manufacturing constraints. Work closely with timing and verification teams to resolve any physical design issues before tape-out. The role requires performing detailed placement and routing tasks, along with clock tree synthesis, to ensure the design adheres to strict timing and manufacturing requirements. Collaboration with timing and verification teams is essential to identify and resolve any physical design challenges before the final tape-out stage. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous coordination across multiple teams to deliver high-quality design outcomes. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform. - Responsible for team decisions. - Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions. - Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams. - Lead the development and implementation of physical design methodologies to improve efficiency and quality. - Mentor junior team members to enhance their technical skills and understanding of physical design processes. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of physical design with other design stages. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize design flow and reduce turnaround time. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Physical Design. - Strong knowledge of placement and routing techniques, including clock tree synthesis. - Experience in optimizing designs for area, power, and timing constraints. - Familiarity with design for manufacturability and timing closure processes. - Ability to analyze and resolve physical design issues in collaboration with verification and timing teams. - Skilled in using physical design tools and methodologies to meet project requirements.
